Deputy Sheriff/FF - Sheriff - The job duties include but are not limited to perform general law enforcement duties in the protection of life and property within Geary County; to patrol county areas; to make investigations at the scene of a crime or traffic accident; to provide security at the Geary County Courthouse; to perform the duties of a firefighter and first responder to accidents;  to enforce all federal, state, and local law resolutions; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.

ISO I - Adult - Community Corrections - The job duties include but are not limited to:supervising clients assigned to the 8th Judicial Community Corrections; to assist each client in improving the level of functioning within the community through education, employment, counseling, etc.; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to all county residents and the general public. .  This position will have an office in Marion and Morris Counties with limited responsibilities in Geary County.  


Real Estate Appraiser I - Appraiser - The job duties  include but are not limited to: perform responsible technical duties in the appraisal of improved and unimproved real property in Geary County; to collect data, establish value, and defend this value by using general accepted appraisal methods and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor - Health Department - The job duties include but are not limited to breastfeeding support, encouragement, and education to our community.   Additionally,BFPC will assist pregnant Women, Infant, and Children clients with their breastfeeding needs throughout pregnancy and postpartum periods; provide referrals to local providers; and provide responsive, courteous, and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Kennel Technician - PT -  Animal Shelter - The job duties  include but are not limited to perform routine and technical services related to the maintenance, upkeep and improvements of the shelter; to care for the health, welfare, and well-being of animals at the shelter; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Transportation Officer - Community Corrections - The job duties  include but are not limited to provide secure transportation of offenders assigned to the 8th Judicial District Community Corrections programs to appropriate treatment and placements including inpatient treatment, foster care, emergency shelters, detention or attendant care; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Building Maintenance Assistant - Public Works - The job duties include but are not limited to perform general building custodial duties, grounds upkeep, move furniture, and assist with maintenance tasks under the supervision of the Buildings Maintenance Supervisor; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Planner - Planning and Zoning - The job duties  include but are not limited to review developmental proposals, preparing reports,collecting data, providing information to the public, and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.


Juvenile Intake & Assessment - Nights - GE -  Community Corrections - The job duties of the Juvenile Intake & Assessment Worker include but  not limited to screen and conduct intake for juveniles; to be responsible for coordinating placement into foster care, emergency shelters, detention or attendant care; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to all county residents and the general public.   Work Schedule: 1 night weekly plus a Friday - Sunday shift every 4 weeks.  This position is in Geary County.


Juvenile Intake & Assessment - Nights - MarionThe job duties of the Juvenile Intake & Assessment Worker include but  not limited to screen and conduct intake for juveniles; to be responsible for coordinating placement into foster care, emergency shelters, detention or attendant care; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to all county residents and the general public.   Work schedule:  Monday thru Thursday, 5:00 pm – 8:00 am/Friday thru Monday, 8:00 pm – 8:00 am.  This position is in Marion County.

Correction Officer - Sheriff Dept. - The job duties include but  not limited to take care of the needs of the inmates in the Geary County Detention Center; to provide the proper treatment, cleanliness, and basic care of the inmates and the facility; to ensure that the inmates are granted their constitutional rights; to enforce all federal, state, and local law resolutions; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.  Please apply on the ADP application link listed below.
