Billing Clerk - Health Department - The job duties of the Billing Clerk include but are not limited to provide prompt and accurate billing to maintain constant cash flow; to assure all procedure codes are correctly input for all KanCare Medicaid, private insurance and Medicare programs according to state regulations; and to provide responsive,courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.
Animal Shelter Director - Animal Shelter - The job duties of the Animal Shelter Director include but are not limited to: implementing policies set out by the Geary County Commission and the Junction City/Geary County Animal Shelter Board; to plan, direct, organize, propose policies and establish procedures; to manage the finances and personnel efficiently and to provide responsive,courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.
County Health Department Director - Health - The job duties include but are not limited to formulate and establish policies for the operation and regulation of the Health Department as defined by Statues and under the guidance of the Board of Health (BOH); to serve as the Health Officer as authorized by State Law, local resolution and ordinances under the director of the BOH/Commissioners; to assess and evaluate Community needs and develop plans to meet needs; to develop annual operating budget for BOH/County Commission approval; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.
Posse - Sheriff - Support the Sheriff's Department by volunteering your time by performing an array of duties. Posse members ride on patrol assisting patrol Deputies with various duties to include; traffic control, search and seizure, search and rescue, lake patrol operations, warrant details, response to critical incidents, community service events, amongst many other aspects of the department. Posse members support patrol, detention and clerical operations through proper training as well as being able to bring knowledge and experience from their own jobs to better assist the department and the community.
WIC Assistant - Health - The job duties of the WIC Assistant include but are not limited to assisting clients of the Women, Infant and Children program in enrolling and maintaining eligibility in the programs. This involves performing clerical, clinical including blood draw, and outreach duties, as well as, providing responsive,courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Health Department - The job duties of the Licensed Practical Nurse include but are not limited to provide services in the general clinics ( i.e.immunizations, STD, family planning, TB and pregnancy testing); to ensure that 90% or greater of our pediatric clients who are enrolled in VFC, immunization records are complete, accurate and current; to maintain contact and educate parents on the importance of vaccinations and making certain that children are up to date to reduce the risk of disease or infection; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.
Health Nurse I - RN - Health Department - The job duties of the Health Nurse I include but are not limited to ensure that women have access to contraception in order to prevent unplanned pregnancies;to provide education to women about pap smears, breast exams, STI testing and other services that are available; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.
Student Dietetic Experience - Health Dept. - Geary County WIC is offering a paid, summer, 10-week student dietetic experience to qualifying students. Applicants must be junior or senior level and enrolled in an accredited Coordinated or Didactic Program in Dietetics. Student will be working in the WIC clinic with registered dietitians and collaborative partners 32-35 hours a week. Duties may include, but are not limited to organizing community events, assisting and teaching cooking classes, attending coalition meetings, attending breastfeeding training, and observing and completing WIC appointments.
Correction Officer - Sheriff Dept. - The job duties include but are not limited to take care of the needs of the inmates in the Geary County Detention Center; to provide the proper treatment, cleanliness, and basic care of the inmates and the facility; to ensure that the inmates are granted their constitutional rights; to enforce all federal, state, and local law resolutions; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. Juvenile Intake and Assessment Worker - Nights - Community Corrections - The duties include but are not limited to screen and conduct intake for juveniles; to be responsible for coordinating placement into foster care, emergency shelters, detention or attendant care; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to all county residents and the general public.
